How are ABA programs funded?
Most clients’ programs are fully funded through their health insurance, school districts or regional centers.
What is my role in the ABA program as a parent?
Parents attend weekly clinic meetings, supply age-appropriate toys and educational materials, participate in the development and implementation of behavior management procedures, coordinate play dates with typically developing peers, and generalize skills taught during therapy sessions to home and community settings. Parent participation in further aspects of the program is definitely welcomed.
Do parents need to be present during sessions?
Parents do not need to be directly in the room during sessions. However, an adult caregiver (e.g., parent or babysitter) must be in the home during all sessions.
